"It is planned that the first robot teachers will be used in several classrooms where they will be operated by 'controller' teachers operating from a control centre."
Each teacher robot has a price tag up to 25,000. They are claimed to be the first economically viable robot and aim to make back their money in a couple of years.
"The aim is to develop something that is useful to society and humans in daily life. The robot teacher is the perfect application for a robot," added Professor Kobayashi.

If your blood runs red and you cost close to 25,000 British Pounds per year, you're soon to be outmoded and my girlfriend is taking over! |

Do you think they could develop a politician robot? We could save money on elections. Have people vote for platforms instead of people. Download the winning platform into the RoboPresident 3000. The sad part would be when the RoboPresident sold out to big multinationals and was caught with an intern. Still, it would survive the crisis because Robomate would stand dutifully by the RoboPresident. Then it would bomb something. |

LMAO! You just made my day.
To answer your question. NO, becuase robots will not be placed in executive positions anytime soon, but will be exclusively serving said politicians and other masters of the universe. I'm sure the oval office could use a new servant. Every corporate head office needs a few unpaid servants. Every store needs a few unpaid staff on hand who don't complain. Every factory needs a fake Rosie the Riveter. Yea right. Blow me some more reasons to be unemployed after they cut staff and product lines in attempt to get short term gains.
It intrigues me that who I thought was a very friendly and super sweet sales lady or other service person I scoped out for a date for many months turns out to be a damned robot and nothing more like I had envisioned. And then I understand why she fails to respond to my offers to go out for a coffee when it gave inappropriate pre-programmed answer of, "Sir, welcome to XYZ Corp, How can I be of service to you, Sir?" to my questions inquiring who she was. LOL. |
