"Dollies"?
It's all right, will trade a copy of "Brother One Cell" if anyone has a hard copy they want to get rid of. Different writing style, similar writing ability! Any takers? |

It must be a very esoteric, regional expat slang term. At any rate, 'books' like this just make my students look so angelic. |

| Maybe I'll save that link for awhile. I think that it will be funny after I've been home for a few months, but right now it hits too close to reality. |

Practically all the book is available online through that link.
I wasn't impressed and, pardon the intrusion, I wrote my take on it earlier. I would just post the link, but I don't think it would fit thorugh the swear filter. The guy sounds like a complete dumb ass. |

I'll have to read through that thread.
I got page 75 before the free sample ended. This book actually struck me a lot like Verisimilitude by Harry that Aussie-Greek guy. If I wasn't an EFL teacher in Asia, it would have been, as the author might but it, a complete abortion. But unfortunately it's all too plausible, and there's little to blame foreigners like him from feeling the way they do. I strongly suspect that the two characters Paul and Billy are the two sides of the author's personality. |

Even doing it this way, the swear filter gets it. |

It is fiction so that means it cannot be taken too literaly. That being said it is also garbage as it is badly written, vulgar and offers nothing of value to the reader. It is typed diharea of low order.
I think the review by smee was pretty much on target and some very salient points about Foreign teachers were made. |

Brian's original link gets through just fine... It's only when you quote it that problems occur |

| After having read 1/5 of what smee wrote, including the quoted words from the book, this guy is a complete tool. It is no wonder that many Koreans have a bad image of foreigners when there are knuckle dragging, book eating, single celled amoebas like this teaching in Korea. |

Obviously he is, but then there are a lot of hagwons who deserve him, or worse. He fit right in at the one where I worked. |
