Most of the bigger places have staff who speak English.
I go to one near Beomgye. Walking from Pyeongchon, you pass Acro Tower, cross the road, and it's the second building on the other side of the street. Big complex with a bunch of offices and a big ugly blue sculpture in the back parking lot. The dentist is on the third floor.
Some buddies also go to one in Acro Tower; not sure about that one. |

I was in the area today but decided to wait a week to get a cleaning 'cause I'm still sick with a cold. However, I did run by both offices and pick up name cards.
Both offices were large, but the one in Acro Tower A42 was significantly smaller. They are both part of the same BeautyTown Club, so I'd like to get the name of another big one in the area, so I can get an outside opinion/estimate. |

I had scaling done at the office in Acro Tower. They also did x rays using a modern panoramic x ray machine (meaning it moves around your head 180 degress while you stand still) It was much better than having to bite down on those little films while they take an xray of only a small portion of your mouth. As expected, I had some minor surface cavities and one on my molar? that I knew had to be filled.
The x rays and scaling were 25,000 won total. I think this was part of a first time customer promotion or something because I have never heard of anyone paying less than 50,000. My last dentist was 60 for scaling and 10 for an xray.
I opted for the gold, and I recommend the same to anyone else. If you do any research into the matter, you will probably reach the same conclusion I did. Amalgam might be the cheapest, but why the hell would anyone put toxic mercury 5 inches from their brain. It's insane.
Anyhoo, I would definitely recommend Acro tower A42 for scaling. It's a nice office and was really cheap. I would also recommend them for dental work, but I'm afraid I might jinx myself. Time will only tell if I have any problems with my inlay. |

Sorry, I realise this is an old post, but just wondering how you got on at the dentist in Acro Towers hagwonnewbie? Have you had any problems with the inlay in your molar?
I went to another dentist in the area recently (SeBin Clinic) and they said I had 17 cavities and 8 of them were serious! I got a check up back home about 9-10 months ago and my teeth were fine so I definitely want a second opinion before I commit to that amount of work and money...
If anyone wlse know of a dentist in the Pyeongchon/ Beomgye area that they have used and have had a good experience with?

|
|
Hi,
I live in Anyang and need to take a trip to the dentist just for a routine check-up (hopefully). Has anyone got any more info on the Acro Tower dentists? Especially if you have their telephone number or website info that would be great.
Many thanks,
John. |

It's on the top floor of The A? tower I can't remember. It' either A or B.
You can just go in there and say you want scaling. They don't speak English well, but they can schedule you.
I haven't had any problems with my inlay. There was a new dentist who checked my teeth after they did scaling. I still had a couple more cavities and I ended up getting them done by my long time dentist back in the states, so I still haven't been back to Acro since then.
I now live in another part of Korea, but I think I still paid 25k for my second scaling at Acro, so I think it's a promotional thing for people like me who needed work done and spent money there before for things like gold inlays.
I'm considering the long trip back there since I'll probably save another 35k. |

I went to the acro tower a few weeks ago, a check up was really cheap about 7000 won. They said I needed about 4 fillings that would be 135,000 a pop so I think I'm going to try somewhere else for a second opinion.
I also wanted a scaling but she said I don't need it - would still like to have
a good clean though!
My friend asked for a scaling and she said it would be a 2 month wait.
Desk staff didn't speak English but the dentist did.
There are loads of dentists in Beomgye just look for 치과
I am going to try Pyeongchon Ye Dental (in Beomgye)
dentist is called A42 - it's the A tower 42nd floor - if I find the number I'll post it for you |
