According to the police, the suspects had acquired the 32-digit numbers that appear on foreigners' credit cards through overseas online websites since October 2007.
Several motels in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were used for their elaborate credit card scheme. After installing a specialized program in a computer there, they connected the computer with their card making machine to make fake foreign credit cards being used in Korea.
To avoid investigation, they used a door-to-door delivery service or coin lockers at subway stations.
