Quote:
If theres one thing that may influence adoption, make things slower or cause customers to pause, its that generally the ASPs (average selling price) of the operating systems are higher than they were for Vista and XP, Darrell Ward, director of product management for Dells business client product group, told CNET. In tough economic times, I think its naive to believe that you can increase your prices on average and then still see a stronger swell than if you held prices flat or even lowered them. I can tell you that the licensing tiers at retail are more expensive than they were for Vista.

You know, I am actually going to pony up the dough on this one. Don't know why exactly, but I feel compelled.

Fair enough.
But I'd choose to give my money to some small game developing company, or a musician that I really like who sells his/her music from their website.........Microsoft don't need anymore money.

Had I paid for Vista, I may think the same way.

While I essentially agree with eamo - MS not needing anymore money - they are offering a product that no one else is.
