Has anyone bought any computer games here in Korea, for example Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942 or Tour Of Duty?
I am interested in buying one or more of these games, but I wondered whether the versions here are "Korean" versions. I assume the games will have Korean menus which is ok, but I wondered whether the in-game dialogs would be changed from English into Korean. I hear people playing computer games like Starcraft and Warcraft in the PC Bangs all the time and they still have their English dialogs.

Does anyone have anything to comment on this?
Thanks.

Generally, the older games from outside Korea were entirely in English. The newer games tend to have the text replaced with Korean but the game speech is still in English.

That's great, thanks.

I might have to go to Yongsan market tomorrow and splash out then! The prices there seem to be cheaper for me than ordering from the internet.

I've tried using Kazaa to get some of the games listed above, but I only end up with broken files or mis-named files. It's driving me crazy!

ya.. cuz kaaza sux Laughing ... check the next thread on kaaza and try the other progs before you go out.. it might save you some cash.. if ya don't wanna stuff around just head out and go shopping.. best info i have for ya bro.. i just checked winmx for you.. it doesn't have it but winmx is not famous for software. maybe go into 'direct connect' and find a games room. somebody should have them if they are worth playing.

good luck!

go to Youngsan to buy your games. Theres an EB games there that will import most everything (in english) so no compatability probs.

I just ordered in KOTOR. Its not cheap but not too bad.

Hey, i just bought Medal of Honor Allied Assult the other weekend and it gives you the option to have english or korean. You may have already bought a game and found out.

One of my friends bought Diablo2 ages ago and he installed his version and it was all korean. Then when i moved over here he used my install disc and uses his play disc to run it and it works in english.

I also was curious to know if any other games beside MOHAA did the same. My friend wanted to buy Call of Duty but the korean dude at Home Plus said it was only a korean version, but im not sure if he was telling the truth or just covering his butt.

Cool laters,

I bought Splinter Cell and a C&C Generals, Renegade and Red Alert 2 package (Renegade's playable) and they seem to be Korean only (Bugger). Operation Flashpoint, Unreal Platinum and Half-Life Platinum run in English (Yes, I know they're old games, but so what)

Also bought Soldier of Fortune 2, runs in English, but 3 files were missing off the CDs???!!! (And this was from Hi-Mart) Had to download them.

Red Alert 2 was given the full Korean treatment with both the text and audio changed to Korean, but Generals only has Korean text. In Generals, the storyline and in-game audio is still in English.

Also, pick up the Zero Hour expansion for it. It improves a lot of things.
