This obviously depends in part on where you live in Korea.....but what are some great weekend get aways you have had that aren't unbelievably expensive?

I have spend a weekend in Geoje (island) near Busan which was cheap and a great time.

Also enjoy going to all the larger cities and checking them out.

Spending time in Mt. Jirisan at a shelter is another good one.



Any other ideas? I am talking for a Saturday/Sunday adventure, maybe one night or two nights at most. Great sights or places to see with small groups of people. Ideas/thoughts/experiences?

Maybe best in the travel section but whatever.

I've done countless weekend trips, but a weekend in Dolsando which is an island connected by a bridge from Yeosu very memorable. Get yourself a minbak found where the bus terminates, and drink the night away, and if the hangover isn't too bad, get up for an incredible sunrise from the hermitage.

Get your butt out to Mokpo and spend a night on Hongdo or Heuksando.

I ate raw fish and got drunk with some local fishermen one night on the south coast. It was the most fun I had in a long time.
