Does my Korean Husband have to go with me to immigration to apply for the F2 visa? Or can I get the documents and go by myself?

I don't mean to be pedantic or condescending, but I hope you two aren't English teachers. My freshmen can spell better than the both of you Rolling Eyes

And yes, you need your husband, both of your ID cards, and a recent (not older than 3 months) copy of your family register with both your names on it from your local Dong office. If you also want a multiple entry visa, the total cost is 70,000 won. I got mine updated 3 weeks ago.

The cost varies depending on your nationality. For Brits for example, the multiple entry visa is free whereas people from the US have to pay about 50k for it. I think the cost of my F2 visa totalled about 10k.. maybe 20k.

I don't mean to be pedantic either, but the husband is a he, not a she.

Yes, but the person who replied assumed that he was dealing with someone who married a Korean woman, because it is far more common to see a Western male with a Korean wife, not there aren't a plethora of examples, but they are not as common. The guy was trying to be helpful, and he didn't pay attention to the fact that the female poster said husband.

It's no big deal, in my opinion. Congratulations, OP! I hope you had a nice wedding. I wish you luck and happiness.

It seems every few days we get these F2 question posts. Some of the questions are incredibly simple. Could someone please explain to me, why there is a need to ask these questions on Dave's when the Korean spouse (who I assume speaks Korean) can just ring up immigration, or look on the immi web site.
Are these spouses incapable of using the phone or a computer?

I was at work...in my class room actually while my students were doing some work and popped on for a second to have a read, saw the post and thought I should quickly say she needed her spouse to go with her. I read it and typed quickly.
