At first I thought it was a pretty horrible thing to do, then I read about the history of staged 'suicide' attempts by people in China and it just makes me chuckle.
Sometimes disgruntled old coots are the only ones with the balls to do what's needed |

Interesting.
During my 7 months in China, I saw a bunch of people threaten to jump. |

Its not interesting at all.
Those who laugh at these Chinese people and think they are ill really need to ..hmmm....punish themselves by trying a bungee jump. |

| I've got tons of plane jumps...including some awesome LALOs, but I have zero desire to attach a rubber band to my ankle and hope it holds. |

What's the difference between a bungy-cord not holding and a parachute not deploying? |

Umm, a second chance...
A chute....you've got an extra. Any chance there're 2 cords on the foot? Nope.
Time. At least if all goes wrong, with a chute...and the height it usually entails, you've got time to make your peace with whoever you believe in. A bungee is juimp-splat.
The record. Bungees fail more often than chutes. |
