I'm wondering about burning my own DVDs of my home movies. I have a laptop and am wondering if I can connect a dvd burner to it.

The short nearly for sure answer is yes, it depends on your system and what resources and such you have available.

Since you are discussing a laptop as the machine, you'll need to have an available USB port or Firewire port. An external usb drive will cost you about 200,000 to 350,000 depending on what you buy ....... but closer to 300,000 is expected as the external burners are more expensive

If you have a new system then you can run one without any real problem. There are tons of applications to do the burning, but the most common and easiest to use as someone without experience is Nero Burning ROM which will likely come with any burner you drive

So yes, you should have no real issue ....

Another option (and it should be available in Yongsan) is the external case. You can take an existing internal drive and convert it. It may be a cheaper option than buying an external drive, though I haven't compared prices.

As lonelyontherok said, it will hook up via USB. Here's a link to one of my favorite computer parts places to illustrate.

I shopped around for both options

Factory USB
Internal IDE Drive connected into an external USB case

The prices come out to bascially be exactly the same; prices vary, favoring each option by about 20,000 WON. The only real way to tip the scales to the 'combo' pack is if you buy an older internal DVD burner, but with the pricing it's easier to just get the Factory USB format ...

It then comes to be more efficient to get the USB drive itself, it's a bit more compact, better cooling, and less risk of a configuration issue, which I have seen in the past; but that is rare these days.

In my opinion anyhow
