Wow... is it just me, or is North Korea flailing like a whining baby drowning? |

Maybe we're not giving them enough attention because of the ex-president's suicide. |

Well they said that JOINING the PSI would be an act of war. Now, apparently its not joining, which SK did already, but stopping their ship. Its backpedaling, pure and simple. |

the only thing I really worry about is if KJI decides that his time is drawing near, and it's time to see what the military might he spent decades building can do. Sort of a last hurrah. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
I know where I'm going, and it involves stealing a motorcycle with a sidecar. |

Ding ding, we have a winner for 2 more points. Good point. Yes, the old fart is about to kick the bucket and he wants to go out in a very bad way. This is a real military threat. I would advise everyone, including South Korean government, to not take this in stride just because nothing has happened in over 50 years. KJI did indeed announce today he is abandoning the truce and is looking to have a war. What insanity. Crazy old man.
Uh, you're going to need more than a motorcycle side care to escape. LOL! More like paddling a small raft to Japan from Donghae or Pohang or Busan. |

Well if Kimmie has gone off his rocker then everyone in Seoul and the surrounding areas are goners. I can only quote Dubya and say, "Bring em on." |

'Threads' - 1984
Documentary style account of a nuclear holocaust and its effect on the working class city of Sheffield, England; and the eventual long run affects of nuclear war on civilization.

So am I the only one who kinda wants to schedule a flight home this weekend? Maybe I'm just not use to KJI's rhetoric. |

Great Movie the American version" The Day after" was no where near as good. Made at the hight of the cold war. Crass were pretty popular then. |

It's a technicality, nothing more. The NK government has made empty threats at various points in recent years - such as my personal favorite, last year's "reducing Seoul to a sea of fire" or something to that effect. There will perhaps be some kind of skirmish at sea, and a few more missile tests, and that will be that.
I don't understand why one would have moved to S. Korea in the first place if one found these kinds of provocations so intimidating. Why come all the way over here only to jump contract (presumably losing your flight / severance) and scamper back to the States over some glorified press release compliments of 북한 marketing? It doesn't make any sense. |

The NORKS detonating a nuclear device does not mean they possess a nuclear weapon. In order to be a threat they need to be able to deliver their "weapon" to a target. Aside from loading a "nuke" on a ship and sailing to a port city, they have no ability to actually use their weapon at this time.
As far as conventional forces, they have the numbers but do not have the ammunition, fuel, medicine,... for any sustained conflict. Basicly they will get to do a one-off on Seoul before they are taken out.
I'm certainly not loosing any sleep over this. |

My sentiments EXACTLY. They don't have the technology or skill to build a usable nuclear weapon. They haven't been able to compress the plutonium properly. Although this yield was a bit larger than it was 2006, it would have been 10 or 20 times larger had they known what they were doing. The "one-off on Seoul before they are taken out," is exactly what they are capable of IMO. Those of you in Seoul are justified in your worrying, but honestly... |
