Does anyone have the vaguest idea of what the taxes would be on a flight to Canada in August? The base price I found is 1.1M Won minus taxes.
The travel agents won't give me a guess!
Cheers. |

| You mean plus taxes...correct? Anyhow, if they won't tell you then you are using a poor travel agent. They always have given me the TOTAL price. Find another. And while your at it, get online, use Farecast or Booking Buddy and find some prices to compare with the new quote you get from the new Korean travel agent. Good luck. |

I am flying home for my sister's wedding in Edmonton this August and have already booked my ticket.
The cheapest price I was quoted was 1.5 mil and some change with the taxes. (Kangsan Travel)
The next cheapest price, taxes included, was for 1.7 mil. (Soho Travel)
Sadly, I had already booked and paid for my ticket with Soho by the time Kangsan FINALLY got around to emailing me back.
Luckily, Jongho at Soho rocks, and he has been trying to get me the cheaper flight since I forwarded Kangsan's email to him. |

I amazed you went as long as you did without someone mentioning that canada's a pretty darn big country and that the fares can be seperated my a million won as you move west to East.
Were you arriving at the "canada international airport" like an American would joke. ( I'm Canadian)
That being said, if you had bought two months ago it was 700 Canadian Dollars return for vancouver, calgary Edmonton and Regina |

July and August ticket prices to Canada tend to be rather expensive and flight are always sold out early (Air Canada is already fully sold out.)
Different airlines have different tax rates. Tickets on Air Canada were 950,000 plus 90,000 in taxes. We booked on JAL for 800,000 plus 200,000 in taxes with a change of plane in Tokyo. 1,000,000 return in August to Vancouver is a pretty good price. |

Since posting the last time, Jeongho from Soho travel was not only able to get me the 1.5 that Kangsan travel quoted me, but was also able to find a cheaper ticket at 1.39 mil to Edmonton (round trip).
I had already paid for the 1.7 mil ticket, so he made the change and refunded the balance to my account.
Yay for Soho! |
