Hey. I recently joined a local gym and have noticed that as the weather gets warmer, so does the gym (funnily enough!!) This gym is rather small and there a few fans, but air con does not seem to exist. Is this the norm for Korean gyms? Small sweatboxes, or did I just join the wrong one?? |

Sounds like you just joined my gym.
Even in the muggy fall/spring, they crank up humidifiers in my gym. its unbearable when its full. |

Same as my gym. I'm sweating before I even start working out. |

Yes, i noticed it's easy to work up a sweat recently. Roll on the winter.
Anyway, back to your question. No, i do not think it's normal for air con to be absent. My current gym, and previous one both have air con. Maybe your montly fee is less than average though so it's not a major factor. In fact, sweating more will do you good!
Its also possible that your gym does have air con, it just hasn't switched it on yet. Maybe the air con is hidden in the ceiling, or the air con boxes are covered up with sheets. |

Oh it's good to be super hot and sweaty as you lose more weight and work your heart even harder for more fitness achievement. If you find it too hard, let down the treadmill difficulty level. Just sweat away, after all the gym is not a place to chill out in the A/C for comfort. Save that comfort for the bar or home after your hot sweaty workout and awesome feeling shower. Now that is refreshing. |

Have a cold shower before working out. Usually stops the sweats for about 15minutes. |
