Is laundry--washing, drying, ironing and hanging/folding--usually a part of maid service?
Also, I have a 22 pyeong place and don't want to hire a maid for more than 3 hours a week. All I want is for her to do the laundry, wash the bathroom, sweep/mop the floors, clean the countertops and wash the windows. Is 3 hours reasonable? |

| I don't know if the clothes will dry in three hours. But the other stuff can probably be done in two. Even then the maid could probably have the clothes washed and hung for you to take down later. |

| I had a roommate who had a maid who used the iron on the clothes to get them both pressed and all the way dry. It was indeed about a three hour job for what you're talking about, though I always felt it wouldn't have taken me that long. |

The clothes aren't going to dry in that time... unless you buy a dryer.
You might want to hire a maid for *four* hours a week... two and two.
Wash and hang the laundry one day.
Come back and iron/fold it 2 days later.
Alternatively... you could wash and hang your own laundry a day or two ahead, and then have her iron/fold/put it away.
I had a Philippino girl who came in and cleaned the hell out of my place once a week. I paid her 15k an hour, for 3 hours - but I put my own laundry away. |

You should be wiping down countertops at least twice a day yourself. Actually, before and after you prepare meals or snacks. Add a teaspoon of bleach to your washing up water to sanitize everything good. The maid can give them a good once-over when she's there, but you have to keep up with it when she's not.
The windows shouldn't need done too frequently, so she can alternate them with dusting walls and fixtures, etc. My cleaning lady starts on one wall and works her way around the room, vacuuming and wiping/polishing as she goes. I'm usually helping her move furniture out of the way so she's getting it deep cleaned.
Oh, and use that Oxi-Clean, enzyme cleaner. Amazing stuff. |
