For whatever reason my Korean version of word only has a font that's semi-cursive. I'd like to be able to use something original and personalised that's in a more genuine-looking cursive font. Anyone know of one?

(btw, I'm not going to bother to teach cursive writing, but would like students to be able to have a better idea of how to read it)

I cannot answer your question, but it does amaze me the amount of people who do not use joined up writing (cursive), or most likely cannot. While my handwriting is awful, it's pretty similar to Quentin Blakes, it is so much quicker to write with.

One solution could be to just write out a sheet yourself, or write joined up on the board during the lesson, that's pretty much how we learnt to write at school. Also get the paper that has a line in the middle for lower case letters.

The only problem is ... I can't write in cursive myself.

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but why don't you Google for the kind of fonts you want and install them on your computer? That would solve your problem once and for all, wouldn't it? Anyway, that's what I did when I wanted to get nice fonts for Halloween and Christmas.

I suggest downloading one of these cursive fonts to install into Windows XP.

After installation, you'll likely need to restart MS Word for it to show up in the font dropdown list.

Hope this helps!

Cheers - I'll do that as soon as I finish editing my co-worker's son's abortion of an MA thesis synopsis.

I showed my elementary aged students my real cursive handwriting for fun once. I know it doesn't apply to your situation, but I got a good laugh out of it. I was making notes about students for the teacher taking over my classes. I intentionally wrote in cursive because this document outlined the problems associated with certain students. One particularly bad student who I have talked to several times about his behavior issues asked me what I was writing. Well, I was writing about him! I passed him the notebook and told him to read! He sat there for a few minutes and couldn't make out a single word. The teacher had no problems reading it! It was quite funny.

I have really nice handwriting, people compliment me on it...and now that it's like a secret code, I like it even more. I spent a day teaching my kids how to write their names, but they work so hard, that anything "extra" sorta drops by the wayside.

I can hardly even write my own name in cursive. I tried writing out a Korea name but have forgotten how to write a capital 'K'.
