I went to get my CBC notarized today and he seemed a bit confused as to why this would be required since the CBC already has a red seal by the police department stating that it is "official". What exactly does notarizing your CBC (in Canada) consist of? I mean, when I went to get mine done he said that all he would do was stamp it (no seal) and sign it stating that this is a true copy and he didn't think that it should be necessary when there is already a seal on it from the polic department. Is the stamp all that is needed for getting it notarized? Or is the police seal enough? |

You need the COPY of the original to be notarized. Hence, make a photocopy of the original CBC and have him notarized it (certify the photocopy to be a true copy of the original document).
I got my Degree and CRC done today (in Toronto)

Can't you just give the original CBC and skip the notarizing?
Does getting it notarized consist of stamping the copy? |

It depends on what the school/agency/recuiter wants. They might want to keep it on file and people usually dont give the original away in case something happen, hence it's best to have it notarized. And Yes, notarizing consist of stamping the copy. |
