I'm not a professional dance teacher but I still can teach it. And have. There's a dance called "Kizomba" which comes from Angola and Portugal and is pretty popular in Europe right now and just recently is starting to be taught in a few of the more progressive studios in the US.
It's kinda a cross between tango, bachata and west-coast swing (if you knwo what those are). It's really not hard at all. The steps are timed just like swing dancing but it's just the body and knee movements that are different.
It's a really sexy and cool looking dance. Check it our on YouTube.
I'm meeting just a couple of my friends from the salsa dance club I'm in and we're going to practice for about an hour at Raggae Pub this Saturday around 3pm.
There's no charge. I'll show you the basics for free and, if you can dance at all already, I guarantee you'll be able to pick it up in no time. Of course, you develop better style and flow later.
You're welcome to come. If you want to attend, I'd appreciate it if you'd give me a call to let me know, at 010 5822 2277.
Mr. Lim, the owner of Raggae Pub, would appreciate it if you do buy a drink or something while you're there. He's not charging us anything to use his place because there's basically no one there at that time anyway.
I've also got a website you can join for free if you're interested in learning and continueing to practice kizomba...at
www.kizombadancer.com .
