http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_phobia

I don't believe I have it, but due to many negative public experiences in my life I feel I may have a mild case of this.

Perhaps this is more accurate:

How about you?

Technically speaking, the name S.A.D. of the thread refers to SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER! usually associated with the "blahs" of prolonged winter months. Sad

good news is that cases usually improve with the Spring months, or at least light therapy!

as for other problems, pick up a copy of "FEELING GOOD: THE NEW MOOD THERAPY." one of the most common reads in CBT, cognitive behaavioral therapy.

it's supposedly the preferred Tx for mood disorders, though this is probably due to time-limited durations more desireable to managed care insurance providers!

and while we're on Axis-II personality disorders, anyone else think Asian societies seem to promote "Passive Aggressive" and related responses to most of life problems? Discuss... Wink

I had fairly serious social anxiety on-and-off in 1st and 2nd year of uni - feel free to PM me if you have questions/want advice - it's a serious mental issue but it's not impossible to work through, and is likely only temporary. Good luck!

it's hard to be sad when you're out exercising.

it's hard to be anxious when you're drinking.

spend your free time on a 50/50 mix.
