I have to order books for a class of 5th and 6th grade elementary students. The class is public school, but the students are considered advanced.
I came across this series and wondered if the content would be appropriate for them. It seems to geared towards adult beginners, but has great reviews on Amazon.com.
However, the first couple chapters of book one look too easy (could always skip them). Whereas book 2 might be too difficult.
Those of you familiar with this series: How difficult do you consider the later chapters of book one and would book two be totally over the heads of kids this age? |

Side by Side is an excellent series. It is good to use with adults, but I do know some teachers that are using it presently with students in the age group you are asking about. They said it has been successful and the students really seem to pick up sentence structure easily using it. |

I use these. There are 4 books. I like book 3-4 for high school kids. They also have workbooks for these what offer great activities.
Granted i Photocopy the pages, but oh well. I also when working at a hogwon used this for the adults. Thisis one of the few books I liked using to teach. I also made my own worksheet for each chapter. |
