I'm noticing more jobs that do not offer (or fail to mention) having any severence pay. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN!

Also, it seems that more than a few schools offer salaries like 2.1 or something, but a lower severence like 1.9.

Weird.

yeah that extra 200k is gonna ruin you financially.

If they give you housing allowances or other allowances, it usually isn't included in your severence.

My school gives me a 1,000,000 won travel allowance on top of my severence pay.

The severance is by law, I believe. They can try to add a clause in the contract that makes your wage higher, which in fact, is the severance spread out over 12 months. I don't know if thats legal. But then again, don't expect to get a fair shake in Korea, as far as the law goes.
