This might be a dumb question. I just received my state criminal record check today, and it's sealed. I know I need to get it notarized. Do I need to keep it sealed before I get to the notarized and have it opened there, or can I open it now?

Thanks for the help!

Open it. It's OK. I was wondering the same thing and opened it up to make sure it was clean.

Side note (shitty story) - For a long time I thought nothing was on my record. Wrong. I was arrested a long time ago for a minor in possession of alcohol. We all know it's a bullshit charge, and I was told by a cop that it was a non-recordable offense. Well he was wrong. *beep*!!

There's more, the cop was my girlfriend's brother and ah.... let's just say the relations between myself and her family were unstable at best. The cop, dispised me. So you can draw your own conclusions.

There are very few things more difficult than dating an Italian female with three older brothers in a strict old school Italian family. I battled for years. I should have known it was a waste of time when I was bitten by her dog the first time I entered the house. A normal person might view this as a bad omen. Not Joey!

You can open it. It's a joke when you take it to the embassy. They don't care what is written on it. They are just there to stamp it.

I was told that I need to get it notarized and then apostilled, so I'm going to get it notarized on Monday... This whole process is costing me so much.

Kill me...

The recruiter I'm going through hasn't mentioned having to mail the stuff over there just yet. I haven't had an interview just yet, either.. so we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

You mail the whole kit and caboodle to Korea, not just the apostilled cbc. It's the transcripts that must be sealed & unopened, btw.
