My xbox 360 is broken for the 3rd time. On the first two occasions it was a video card problem. It switched on and there was sound but no picture. Now it has a steady RROD. The warranty has expired.

I've heard a few things about reliability issues with the x360. Has anyone here experienced problems with it? Is it worth getting repaired for a third time (in the space of 6 weeks), or am I throwing money into a bottomless pit?

Cheers

MD

You're one of those guys who smashes the machine when he loses, aren't you?

Answer: Anger management. It's not the console, it's the f'n game. Make a back up and smash the disk. It's very cathartic. I know first hand.

I'm in Veitnam at the minute. There are no authorized service centers here. Still, the first time I got it fixed, it cost just $12. The second time was free as there was a one month repair warranty.

However, it's working again. I'm sure it's on it's way out though. Last night it paused to load in the middle of a game. The thing is definitely on it's last legs. Pity because the games cost $1.50 here. Obviously they're copies, and I can't use xbox live. But I ain't complaining.

Team Xecuter sells an XBox 360 RROD repair kit.

Even if your 360 doesn't have RROD, this kit is useful in helping to prevent one from happening.
