I'm wondering if anyone has visited Tioman Island in Malaysia. If so, which area did you stay in? We're considering staying in either Salang village or Air Batang. My friend and I are looking to stay somewhere lively (or as close to as lively as possible for eastern Malaysia), near a good beach for swimming wth access to a few scuba shops. I understand transport between the different villages is limited, so ideally, we'd like to stay in an area which has it 'all.' Any recommendations on which area to stay in, or a budget-midrange hotel would be greatly appreciated!
