Here's My Take .

Which of these sins are you adept at? Which other sins have you committed?

You must have lots of free time. I found the list quite dull and a waste of five minutes Rolling Eyes

Actually that was really good - I'm guilty of some of them.

I agree with all points but #6. I will never lower myself to role of dancing monkey entertainer. There are ways to accomplish everything you need to do and still maintain your dignity. It may be fine for others to play the buffoon for students who expect the foreigner to be their clown , but not for me.

I agree with all of the points, although in the case of #1, I will not commit any actual larceny or criminal theft of even the smallest amount. I will however beg, barter, buy and donate whatever it takes.

If anyone ever works out how to navigate that site, let me know. Finding info on there is like herding cats.

Is that a recently written work? And if it is, does it at least reference the guy who wrote all the '7 Deadly Sins of Learning English' (or whatever the title was) that were (are?) published in one of the local papers?

Thanks for all the comments - good or bad. "The Word" is meant to be tinder to the passions of us all.

To reply to a few specific questions...

PRagic,

It was written 2 weeks ago.

I was thinking of referencing Evagrius Ponticus and even the good Lord him or it or her self but thought that by now the idea of the 7 deadly sins was pretty much in the common domain??? However, if you do have a reference/a name to the author you refer to - I'd love to read what he/she wrote. But please, next time you are going to comment about something, don't begin by suggesting I reference something I never read nor heard of (and which you yourself have a very faint notion of). That's bad manners.

The world is a forest of symbols said Baudelaire. Sometimes we build a fire from those same trees.

Moosehead -- I hope you do too.

Oculis, -- I think dignity is the preserve of those that are least deserving of it. Or I think Mae West or someone like that said it is a perfume which those wearing it are not conscious of.... I don't believe in dignity - I believe in outcomes. So I'm a scoundrel.

I have a lot of free time! I'm a free man and time is my own and I do what I decide and want to do with it. However I do apologize for making you feel dull and a waste. My bad and I guess next time, you'll have to become a little more free and decide better on how you use your time.

ontheway - In no way was I suggesting we break the law. But if the law is an ass well, I do think we should ride it..... if you know what I mean.

Cheers,

DD
