to leave the country when my contract finishes? It finishes on August 24th and my ARC is good until August 31st.
I'm not being lazy, i checked the immi website but it keeps freezing and was doing my head in!

Hi,
As long as your ARC is ok you should be fine. You may be eligible for the severence only when you have completed the year.
Also check your passport for the date on your visa stamp.. |

dont waste time by looking at the visa in your passport - it was no longer relevant from the moment you entered the country. your arc card is the date you need to watch to know when you have to leave. if it says august 31, then you have to be out of here before midnight on august 31.
if you want to stay up to 30 days longer, you can purchase you plane ticket and take it to immi. they will extend your exit to the date of your ticket up to, but not exceeding, 30 days past your arc date. keep in mind this extension is a non-working tourist visa. this is also a FREE extension. |
