I contacted Mr. Lee , 이중식 a few minutes ago regarding vacancies in the district and how I can apply for positions in the fall. He told me that as of right now, they do not have anything available. I am also applying for public school jobs with the SMOE and Gyunggido. Both users, riley and jinju, have had great things to say about the the Gangnam district, so I would like to at least try and apply. How soon before the school year were you granted an interview? It would seem like these positions are highly coveted. Would I have a decent shot with 1.5 years experience? Do you think canvasing the public schools in the district with my resume and asking them myself if they have openings in the fall would be of any benefit, or would I be wasting my time? I'm going to send Mr. Lee my resume, but I read that the contracts for Seoul and Gyunggido need to be signed at the end of June.

I had an interview in October and I started work 2nd week of November. So not exactly at the start of the year. But I was in the "first wave". There were 4 of us I think that got hired at that time. Then they filled in the other positions later in 2005.

When I applied I had 3 years experience. I dont know how much stock they put into my experience as opposed to references I got. So I cant help you out there.

I would say go to mr.Lee and go to the Gangnam district office and try there too. You can also try Seocheo.
