Any F visas (or otherwise) here that have procured their own Korean insurance policies??
If so, what's the monthly rate and what's the basic coverage like?
Thanks a bunch. |

Top 5 answers you'll likely get:
1. Samsung has insurance
2. Why not just use the National health insurance?
3. Call AIG
4. I have the personal insurance with _____. (with no more details on who to contact, or what plan, or how much.)
5. TROLL! |

Aii!
Yes,..likely.
Well, the little woman has contacted the local Natl. Insc. office and they claim (over the phone)....69.900 per mo. for full coverage for F visas.
(Haven't gone down there yet.)
I have a feeling that some certain private health insurance co. is giving better rates. Just haven't found them yet!
pkan: Who is AIG?
PS: I'm only PT'ing and freelancing, thus don't have thru work. |

Hi, I got extra health/life (as they call it) through PCA Life. The rate for my daughter was 14,000 won per month. The man's name is Jung Ji Han.
His phone number is 011-9977-9729 and his email is [email protected].
I hope this helps you.
Good luck |

We have Samsung health/life insurance, but expect to pay 100,000-250,000 per month for a policy (depending on what you get, your age, etc.). It covers up and above over the national policy. Remember, many cheaper policies are spotty in what they will actually cover (like in the case of cancer). It's all dodgy if you ask me -- just like anywhere, eh? |

I don't have medical insurance, but I do have a life insurance policy that I got through a broker based in Japan but comes to Korea once a month.
I am looking into getting a couple of medical insurances, though - one for me and one for my daughter. Though I won't get it through a Korean insurance company.
