I had read a thread about this a couple months back..but my google searches are failing me. For those who've gotten their own internet service, who has the better package for Internet/TV, better with no home phone..just not necessary.
I remember reading people talking about the SK broadband packages, but I can't find them.
I found the KT english page in a thread, is there an SK english page which describes their packages? |

SK's english site. Their 100 fiber line works out to be cheaper than their cable line.. no modem rental fee. (~35k a month or so)
My friend had something for maybe ~25k a month.. not sure, but it was signed up through her coteacher and in her coteacher's name. If you can get someone to do that for you, it'll be cheaper from a local place.
Cable & More is about 35k a month for internet + cable tv if you can get it (they refused to replace the cable box in my building so I couldn't get it..) |

I dunno about service.. is KT Megapass just the name for KT's broadband internet (QOOK)? http://www.kt.com/eng/pro/dome_internet_MegapassLite.jsp?pageNum=1&subNum=3
I think when my handler talked to them for me, they mentioned a modem rental fee (even though I had an old KT VDSL modem left from the previous tenant). So the price ended up being more per month. With SK they gave me my first month free + a free gift.. The gift I picked was 40k in SK gift certificates good at a bunch of places. I used the certificates at Outback :p
I have no idea what other perks come with the SK service though.. their English help sucks. If you call them and ask for an English speaker, there is often none and if you're lucky, they'll get your number and call you back later with an English speaker. Or you have to email them and then wait for them to call/forward it to someone who can reply to you. KT is way ahead of them in foreigner friendliness (if their internet CSRs are as good as their KTF mobile CSRs that is..). |
