| A passport is required. A visa is not needed for a tourist or business visit of up to three months for holders of a British passport endorsed British Citizen or British National (Overseas), issued in Hong Kong. Other passport holders must obtain a visa. |
Really?
I never realised this was the case and I'm still not sure that it is, but I've now seen it on a number of resources...
Does this mean a Brit can basically go to Korea and work as whatever for 3 months?
Anyone had experience of this?
Also, is it possible to apply for a 6 month tourist Visa for Korea as a Brit? I've tried the South Korean Embassy in UK website but seems the site is down...
Help Appreciated! |

Does this mean a Brit can basically go to Korea and work as whatever for 3 months? No. Only a business trip. Not anything they like. Something related for Business.
Also, is it possible to apply for a 6 month tourist Visa for Korea as a Brit? As far as I know you have to leave after 3 months and come back again. |

So, something business development related would be a good example should you have your own company or work for an organisation that sends you over to Korea to conduct meetings with potential clients etc?
It feels like something of a grey area... if my job is 'English Consultant' and I run a company in the UK which is 'English Consulting' I could trip to Korea and conduct 'English Consulting' business, meeting with various customers / 'business associates' for private ESL Teaching which is being conducted with my UK registered company...
Seems like 6 month Visas for Korea don't exist, thanks for the clarification! |
