The very aptly named Sunmoon University,

If you were thinking of working for them, you just missed the deadline:

Why? Do you want a Master's degree in Virginity?

Yes, they really have one....my house/land is but 1 km from the main campus.

Actually, the main campus (Asan) is the 'normal' university. The students and staff, on the whole, are non-Moonie followers at the Asan campus. The Cheonan campus, however, is a different story. It is there where they have their chapel and 'faith degrees.' I went there for their Korean language program (Cheonon campus), and let's just say....it's "different." Out of some 200 students in the Korean language program, 195 belong to their church. When we had free time to talk, it was never boring....always amusing, to say the least.

So, what are the actual working conditions there like? I certainly know the Asan location alone ticks lots of my boxes (countryside-ish but close to Seoul, good biking, trees etc)

I've met non-Moonie teachers who work at Sun Moon. It's a bit out of the way if you don't have any transport, but other than that, no complaints.

(Ryst Helmut - I think I know you - you weirdo)

I once interviewed at UTS in New York. They call themselves an "interfaith seminary," but:

Quote:
Established in 1975, by the founder, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, UTS celebrates more than 30 Years of educating international leaders in a wide variety of missions worldwide.

That German TV personality Lee Charm who is the token expat in a lot of Korean TV shows is a moonie. The Reverant sung Moon wants to eventually have him run for a political seat.

I noticed religion is even emphasized in their subway ads; does one have to be religious to work there?

Depends on which campus you work at I'd say. I visited one campus and the administration building looked like a Mosaleum. It was huge, and arhitecturally innefficient I'd say. Wonder how much of a subsidy the moonies get from the government for running the place.
