this public school teaching is unbelievable.

i work 12 hours a week.

classes go as smooth as clockwork.

wonderful students who are always active in class and never give me any problems. zero discipline problems. the energy in the classroom is warm and vibrant.

my co-teachers are a pleasure to work with. they do as they're told and we have a good relationship.

i have worked a total of 10 days in the last 4 weeks.

i can teach what i want, when i want to.

all three schools let me go home when im not teaching. tues - go home at 2pm. wed - go home at 12pm. fridays - go home at 10:30am!! i dont start until midday on mon and thurs.

there is absolutely ZERO stress in this job.

ZERO...

im curious. i know there are heaps of us doing this public school vacati...i mean, holi...um...work... WORK! that's it! i think it is supposed to be ..work?

i would like to know what others' experiences of this is?

please share!

Razz

Well, what can I say other than you are very, very lucky. Don't screw up this job because you will probably never find work like that again. You rolled a 7 while many of us rolled snake eyes. Nice.

but you live in *bleep* gongju, whereever that is. good for you if you like it out there...

my classes get canceled because they want to go out for 회식, i get paid. other students show up 30 minutes late for an hour class in the morning from another 회식, i still get paid for the full hour. i get random bonuses just because they like me (?) and they have extra cash.

let's all have a big circle *bleep* in honor of how amazing our lives are.

You should stick to playing golf. Your boastful post got read by another teacher... other KTeachers foundout. Now the supervisor of our area knows Mad Thanks to your post my 'cushy' job has dissapeared...i now can't leave early and have to arrive at a set time(where once i could come and go as i pleased). I also had other 'benifits' which are also in jeopardy.

If you have a sweet gig don't advertise...not everyone is so lucky. Rolling Eyes

Seems like it's the other teachers fault not the OPs :>

I think we're all happy for the OP. I think it's great he/she has got a kickin ass lifestyle...

what would i do with that time...

*cue thought bubble*

I would probably go on Dave's ... and share my happiness...

* thought bubble end*

Because he's a stupid as all those who came on 'Dave's and said-

"I work for X POE and don't 'do camps' or 'desk-warm'... I get six weeks of holidays during winter vacation, two weeks during spring break and another six weeks during summer vacation... ha, ha."

Now, they're doing camps and desk-warming.

I think the OP thinks his situation is great, but in reality it sucks. He's just ignorant to his options.

So what if he's boasting. If you think you've got a good gig and everything is going well, then your students will be happy and be more willing to learn English. I don't have a problem with happy teachers. But three schools! No thanks, I'd rather work at one where I can feel like part of the school, see the students all the time and hang out with the teachers. Working at more than one school would make me feel like a commodity--and dispensable. Just my own feelings! Smile

oh, for god's sake i wasnt boasting at all.

there are so many bad situations written about here on a daily basis, i just thought i would share something and invite others to share any good jobs they have in korea as well...

as for adobe, i dont know who you are and dont need to know... sorry if your benefits are cut due to my post. that was the last thing i wanted. blame the sad little bug that reported it.

as for the teacher who reported...well i think i know who that is...it doest surprise me coming from this person.

A good job is where you get to make a contribution and share your gifts. Possibly it is also challenging and you are growing from it. It doesn't need to be long hours. I changed my views on jobs that are easy as being good jobs.

my job is good mainly because the students are a genuine pleasure to work with as i said in the op.

there are no discipline problems at all out of about 500 students.

and the coteachers are good to work with and the classes run beautifully.

that is a tribute to my students and coteachers, not to myself.

yes i can leave early, which adds to the benefit.
but it is not the main reason.

it feels like i get "paid for nothing" , not because i can leave early but because everything runs so beautifully in the classroom. everytime.

there is zero stress so it feels like zero work.

even thouhg, in actual fact, im working very hard in the classroom. it feels like zero stress
