North Korea demands 4-fold raise in wages from South
The Associated Press , Seoul | Fri, 06/12/2009 8:08 AM | World

The joint industrial park that remains the biggest symbol of reconciliation between the two Koreas faces doom following North Korea's demand for a 3,000 percent increase in rent for the site - a figure one businessman called "nonsense."

Like the article stated I think this is a "get out" move on the part of the North Koreans. Sadly it will hurt the North Koreans more than the South Koreans if they do pull out of the complex. I'm not sure how either side would look at it if they did pull out since they appear to be using the complex as a reconciliation point between the two countries, but given the current events I doubt many are seeing it as such.

A Korean cave man invented fire. Then he told his cave man friends about it using his hand phone.

Whats noticeable is how the southerners will overlook and make excuses for any provocation or ill behaviour from the north, because they view them essentially as their extended family.

While most S.Koreans reluctantly and very resentfully pay lip service to the fact that America is doing them a favor by being here, inside they all look up to N.K. as the ideal paragon of what Korea should be- strong, independent, sticking it to the U.S.

It wouldn't surprise me if they agree to double or triple the wages and rents there to keep the illusion of Korean brotherhood alive.
