i wanna buy an ipod touch, and the cheapest i've found seem to be at yongsan in seoul. my students warn me that they'll try and burn my gringo ass by selling me a fake/broken ipod.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure you inspect the product well before you purchase.
I made the mistake of having a new computer delivered to me without testing it first, and had to take it all the way back myself as they forgot to connect some criticial wires inside and it wasn't starting up.
If you don't speak Korean well enough to negotiate a deal, it might be a good idea to take a tough Korean ajumma or ajosshi with you to do some bargaining. |

Know what's a fair price for it going in and don't let them get more from you.
Can't you check on the actual box that the sticker is still in place, showing it hasn't been opened yet? |

I generally avoid Yongsan. You have to check the product thoroughly before buying it. Sometimes the guys who sell it know nothing (or pretend). |

Why take a chance in Yongsan, when "Frisbee" in Myeongdong is the largest Mac dealer in the city? |
