Maybe yongsan might have some? They always have kitchen appliances there...
Otherwise, you might just have to boil some water and use a strainer. That works fine for me |

We haven't found a steamer like that, but you could make one that works pretty well. I really can't see how it would be any different.
My wife bought a large pot and a colander that fits perfectly inside of it. The handles of the colander stick out of the pot keeping it from falling in. She puts about one cup of water in the pot (doesn't touch the colander). She gets the water boiling and then drops the vegetables in the colander. Put the lid over the pot and colander and steams them for about 5-10 minutes.
Works and tastes great. |

I believe I did see one at Costco recently.
Our new oven has a steam feature. We haven't used it to steam veggies yet, but man o man, does it do great chicken! |

I saw two at emart today. hadn't noticed them before, but a bit pricey. 130,000W for the tefal and 80,000W for the philips. I used to get the single black and decker ones for like $20-$25 CAD, so I'm hoping to find something slightly more reasonable. If anyone happens to be going to costco and sees them, let me know. |

I just wash the veges well then put them in the microwave in one of those ziplock bags (half closed). Seems to do the trick. |

bwahaha... microwave veggies. Ew.
I haven't seen one of those things, but I picked up a vegetable steamer at Homeplus. It's just a metal mesh thing that folds into a half-ball... and legs to hold it up from the water. Just put it in any normal size pan w/ a lid on, and voila. |

Just use your rice cooker. If you have one, that is. |

it'll come in a day or two, but I expect it to be busy making rice, so I'd prefer to get my hands on an independent steamer.
how was the metal pot steamer? was it hard to manage? |

I have a large metal one - it's like a double boiler, one large pan for the water, and then a smaller seived pan that sits inside above the water and a lid that fits over both. I bought it in Emart (Seongsu) maybe 2 years ago - 25,000 won.
the one in the pic looks great but unnecessary - a friend had something similar maybe 25 years ago back in the u.s. - when I first tasted steamed veges (yeah, K is that far behind, I know all of you are going gasp gasp right now!) it did make wonderful veges but was a pain to wash and donno, just seemed too pricey for such a simple task.
glad to see others tho are steaming their veges, it definitely is better for you, keeps more vitamins in and flavor.
btw, those little fan-types (the ones that open and close) do work ok, but you have to watch out because they sit so low on the pan you can boil out the water before you know it and burn the pan. |
