I'm on a roll with the dumb threads. My pad tends to be dirty and messy. Not my fault, really, I just don't clean up much. I came to the clever conclusion it really isn't that important. The floors, damn, they get dirty as soon as I try to wash them, it's like a school hall.

Nah, I enjoy a clean house as much as the next one, but laziness and lack of company gives me a wide berth. I do clean up now and then, but quickly find myself in disarray and dirt soon again. Is one supposed to do this every day? Or hire a maid? I really can't be bothered a lot of the time.

I suppose I have a question. Oh yeah, why are most people so fussy about cleanliness indoors when we spend a good bit of time in the filth that is just outside our doors? It's all right to stomp around in the public dirt, but my living area must be spotless? That defies sense to me, just a bit.

eh, I just had the swiffer and would sweep as soon as I could see a dust bunny. Spot-clean any spills or whatever. I wouldn't say I've ever had dirty floors, just dusty.

I prefer to classify my place as "messy" rather than "dirty." The dishes get done, the sink and toilet stay clean, I just tend to clutter my desk with papers.

My perception of my place is that it's very clean. We rarely do any cleaning, but there is zero clutter in the main rooms, and we keep the doors to the other rooms closed.

My desk is cluttered with empty bottle right now though.

Really clean after spending 3 hours today doing a complete cleaning from top to bottom. Bleach is such a wonderful thing though it's 4X more expensive than at home. Still affordable for liberal apartment cleaning which bugs of all types and sizes hate and will steer clear of. Besides drugs, bleach is what allowed America to reduce disease, flu, and cold to unprecedented levels during the last half of the 20th century. I'm a bleach addict.

shell out a few won and get an adjumma or phillippina to come and clean your apt every couple of weeks. we've had one come every week for 3 years, pay her 35k/week and does a great job. heck she even comes and keeps an eye on things when we are on vacation

I just watched my dishes today for the first time in like 2 weeks. I've never cleaned the floors once since I moved in in September. I swiffer once in a while but I've never wiped/mopped the floors. There's a lot of black sand in my bathroom 'cuz I live on the beach and spend a lot of time there. I have clutter everywhere and clothes lying around. I put away all my clothes and the next day there always seems to be a pile of clothes. Cleaning is a losing battle for me, and like beercanman, I just don't see the point really.

I need to hire someone to clean my place from top to bottom, especially the kitchen. It smells like something died in my refrigerator and I get too grossed out cleaning disgusting food spills, like the one on the stove. Ewww... Wow, I sound like the biggest slob right now. Haha.

35,000 a week is too much money to spend for someone to clean my apartment. I'd pay someone 35,000 to clean my apartment once or twice though before I leave in 2 months.

I don't make my bed unless I know that someone is coming over, but I try to keep the place sanitary. I don't like a sticky or gritty floor when I hang out barefoot, and I don't want to look at or smell any garbage, but the books, papers, and magazines do pile up. Dishes don't pile up as much because I don't own enough of them to last me more than two days...then I have to wash something if I want to eat out of it...which I am oft willing to do.

Aside from dishes and laundry, seven minutes a day should be all you need to keep things straightened up. An hour once a week to do floors and dusting ought to be enough for as small as those places are.

Find a place for everything and keep everything in it's place.

What do you guys' apartments look when the ladyfriends come over? A guy needs to make an effort to be somewhat clean...not all girls care, but it's nice to take our shoes off at the door and not experience blacksock while we're visiting your apartment Makes us want to stay a little longer...

This advice goes out to all the grimy guys: spray off the bathroom with your shower hoses, scrub the toilet once in awhile and for god's sake get one of those wetmops (blue sponge things on a stick) and run it over the floor, with water and a little vinegar. It doesn't take long, considering the size of the crackerjack box you probably live in. Wash your dishes, take out the Dr. Seusslike leaning bags of garbage. Any cleaning beyond that is always appreciated but we girls might start getting nervous and think that you expect it spotless. Or expect us to keep it that way.

I'm a neat-freak when it comes to my apartment. I get annoyed if I have one dirty dish in the sink. I always find myself wiping my floor to get rid of anything that looks like dirt.

I am neat and tidy. Everything has its place. It is the rare moment indeed when I utter something like, "Have you seen my...." or "Now where did I put those..."

Every Korean that ever came into my apartment, and there were several plus a few friends many many times, were always amazed that a single guy had such a clean place. Maybe they thought we all lived like slobs!

I even used to pick wild roses that grew nearby and put them in a vase I made by cutting a plastic Hite beer bottle in half. A bowl of fruit and some coloured plastic film over the gaudy fluorescent lights and my pad looked decent.

When I was in university, I lived like a pig. It was disgraceful, but I'm sure most guys do that while in uni.

Once I came here, I really cleaned up my act, literally. When I lived alone here, everything was usually nice and clean. Probably because the places here are so small, it is easy to keep them clean.

Now that I am married, my place is ALWAYS clean. The dishes are done minutes after eating. The food waste is taken out minutes after the dishes are done. The regular garbage is taken out as soon as the bag is full. My wife cleans the floors nearly every day on her hands and knees! And she is pregnant for Christ's sake! I tell her not to do it, and I will clean it with the vacuum, but its no use. It's actually really nice to have things in order and smelling good.
