Hey everyone.
I had questions/concerns about visa before I head over to Korea to teach in August.
I am Korean American(Gyopo) with US citizenship. I was born in Korea and moved to US when I was young which qualifies me for a F4 visa.
I called the Korean consulate the other day to apply for F4 visa and they said that whole process will take about 2 to 3 months because I have to obtain a lost nationality certificate from Korea. And I have no family member in Korea who can obtain that certificate for me. So I was thinking that I might need to get a E2 visa since I can not get a F4 visa in US. But it seems its a bit of a hassle to obtain a E2 visa when I can just apply for F4 visa while in Korea.
So here are my questions:
1. If I go to Korea with an E2 visa, then can I transfer it to a F4 visa after I arrive in Korea?
2.How long does the whole process of getting a F4 visa take? Because if I'm not applying for an E2 in US, I would like to go to Korea early and apply for the F4 visa.
3.Where do you apply for F4 visa in Korea?
4. What kind of documents do you need for F4 visa.
I would appreciate any kind of inputs from you guys.
Thank you in advance. |

The 'answer' to questions 1 through 4 is -
Ask the Korea Immigration Service.
You're welcome. |
