I know this is a long shot but does anyone know of any schools/programs/hagwons/whatever that hire English-speaking artists to teach?
I'm an artist by training and am interested in seeing if there's any demand for what I know (in English).
Thanks for any leads. |

Depends what your arts degree specializes in. If it was something with a strong lean towards design or illustration you could get a job with a textbook company. If you specialized in conceptual art with a minor in Jackson Pollock splatter painting you'll just have to join the rest of us in a regular ESL/EFL gig. You can also get an exhibition in Insadong that can be pricy with no guarantee on sales. |

Hah... sigh. It never hurts to ask, right?
Actually, I concentrated in wet and digital photography with an credit-hour short of getting a double major in sculpture.
Figured there's gotta be a rich lady in Gangnam lady somewhere that would pay good money to have their kids play with clay and make photo-grams with an English-speaker. |

Hrm, shouldn't be a problem as the last time I stuck to a girl who was under 18, I was under 18. |

good call on not sticking to the under 18 ones in recent years. It's best to not stick with them after you stick them. |

Or you can get involved in one of Nancy Langs performance art projects.
She likes to get naked and she's got a hot body. |

Mmm... those performance art folks are crazy and more importantly, they don't pay. |

Just think about the crap you will have to clean up. Then think about how easy it is to teach a language by doing some random unrelated activity.
I did it for a year. Never again. |

You mean you don't like post-studio clean-up time? Cleaning the lab after developing all night or sweeping up the sculpture lab after class is just about the most relaxing thing I can think of. :/
Different strokes. |

Look, fair play if you want to clean up after a bunch of children, but that's not what I would call 'relaxing'...
If you're interested, why not ask recruiters for 'immersion' after school programs. They generally have classes involving math, science, music, and art. |
