Emart Yongsan restructured the area where they were previously stocking imported food - that area is now ginseng and other well-being stuff (don't know exactly as I don't buy any of it)

over in the regular food aisles - yes - !! a very nicely designed and labeled, International Cuisine section with an increasingly diverse selection of imported foods from our favorite countries.

this only makes good marketing sense and I hope other stores will follow suit - if they haven't already - the ones I've been to still separate the imported foods from the K grocery items -

but I really appreciate the added touch of "international cuisine" as opposed to "foreigner food section"

positive progress, definitely !! Very Happy

that's just it - it's no longer separated from the rest of the food but has been integrated with the other foodstuffs on an aisle.

it just makes these items easier to find, is all - same in N. America - I think shoppers appreciate it - Very Happy

What kinds of food have they added? I might have to make a trip to E-Mart if there are any good additions...

exactly

a sort of concentration camp of foods eyed by some locals for the furnaces

certainly not to be mixed in with the Korean foods aisle by aisle in the sections they belong

they'd ghetto-ize foreigners if they could

it's a "cultural" thing

I'm going to start an organization to end this cruel injustice. I'll call it AFFK (Association of Foreign Food in Korea).

If you check it out, please report back what they have. The op wasn't very specific what they added. I'm hoping some of the other E-Marts besides Youngsan will start doing this as well.

hmm - sorry about that - I didn't need anything so didn't take an item by item inventory - but considering it appears to be larger than the previous section by maybe 2x as big? the usual catsup, soups, canned goods, pasta, sauces, etc. and other assorted goods.

didn't see any oatmeal, but it's only a matter of time Razz
