Any information on YBM? Is the school reputable? I haven't seen their name on any blacklists but I also have not read any reviews period. The company seems to have their stuff together but you never know.

Thanks for the insight!!

Here is the absolute truth, brother. Your first year in a hagwon is going to be hell. But you'll make it through. Then you'll have a choice. Should I stay here or go home.

Most will go home. But some will stay because they'll fall in love with the place. They might have a woman and make a family--just like me.

Living in Korea ain't hard; but it ain't easy, either. You might like it; you might hate it.

It's all up to you, brother. You're gonna be living in a place that ain't first world or third world--kind of a cross between the two.

You're in for adventure. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

You need to be more specific. YBM ECC, PSA, Prime, E4U, ELS . . . ?

My first job was with YBM ECC. It was a generally pleasant experience. There are better opportunities. I also worked for YBM ELS for a summer, and can't think of many other places with less-competitve salaries. The link below will cover a number of issues that I, along with a number of people I know who worked for YBM, would agree with:

If you do decide to proceed with ECC, be sure to ask for at least two foreign teachers' email addresses to get the scoop on the branch(es). They've usually got one FT in their pocket, so you should expect a lot of sunshine and rainbows from at least one contact. Good luck with everything.
