Might go to Thailand for 10 or so days and was wondering, if traveling around the country for 10 days, how much would that cost, plane ticket not included... Thanks.

This is impossible to answer without knowing things like activities, standards of accommodation, etc.

Thailand travel is cheap. You can eat for $1 on the street per person and get full. The food on the street is very delicious, too! Even the nicest of the nice restaurants are only $20-30 a person. Hostel lodgings are cheap (I recommend Lub D in Bangkok) -- we stayed 10 days at Lub D in the most expensive room (ensuite with nice TV) for under $250 the entire time. Tours can be expensive. I recommend you do the major sites on your own and then places that require extensive travel may be more convenient if booked through an agency.

My significant other and I were able to stay in Thailand for under $50 a day (for both), not including tours, lodging. We bought a lot of stuff and ate out at nice restaurants about 1x a day.

Good luck - you'll love Thailand. Smile

I'd do the Phuket/Phi Phi/Krabi/Bangkok/Chiang Mai circuit.

I'd also bring an empty suitcase if I were returning to Korea for a while. You can get a lot of necessities in Thailand on this trip for a lot cheaper than you can get those in Korea. I went to Thailand last year and brought back a haul that saved me most of the cost of the plane ticket. It took almost a year to realize the savings, but save I did.

I'd say plan on taking 1000 Thai Baht per day. Somedays you will spend all of it but other days you might. Anyways a good time can be had with that amount of money. Beers in a bar run about 80 baht and a nice meal of curry or pad thai can be had for about 40 baht at many restaurants. If you don't drink or buy your beers from a store you can get by a little cheaper. But really, you are on vacation in Thailand, have some fun.
