I thought I would share a great experience I had buying a new laptop in Gwangju, Jeollanamdo. For those of us who work in the southwest corner of the country it can take quite a while to get all the way up to Seoul (unless you're blessed to be in a city with KTX service).

If anyone else has any other stories about buying technology in the southwest of the country feel free to post!

I hope this information will help anyone in this part of the country who doesn't want to make the trek to Seoul.

I got my computer at Kuhmo World. This is located behind the E-Mart by U-Square (bus terminal). If you're starting from the bus terminal head towards the Shinsegae, go outside, past the E-Mart, and on the right hand of the street you'll see a building with a rounded roof. This is Kuhmo world.

On the fourth floor when you get off the escalator there is a vendor who sells a few types of laptops. They offered to install either XP or Vista English for me and even gave me a bag, mouse, and headphones on the house. I chose a model and two hours later they had everything set-up and ready to go.

They turned the computer on for me and let me check to make sure everything was in English and OK. Windows passed the "Genuine Windows" check so I'm pretty sure its not a pirated copy. The computer is an HP and has been working great for over a month now.

In any case I hope this info will help anyone out in the southwest part of the country looking for a computer.
