how much does a pair of motorbike tires roughly cost for a comet 650. not sure whether to go for a pair of bridgestones or not. i know they will be superior in so many ways, its just im a little bit broke and the back tire needs changing now. thanks in advance.

Its a bad idea mixing tires. Get a tire that is the same brand/model as the one you have on the front. By the way probably the best are Michelin Pilots, they contain Silica are super soft and sticky yet long wearing. Shinko are garbage.

i know not to mismatch. sorry, i should of said a pair of bridgestones versus local made stuff. just want an idea of prices before i hit up the shop really.

Depends on what you plan to do with the tires.

Shinko are shit, but they are cheap and last a long time. You can ride as hard as you want in the city and never have a problem, you can take em out on the twisty roads and enjoy. You just need to remember you aren't riding Pilot Powers. Shinko makes all kinds of tires to fit your needs. About 100-120 per tire...not the best deal considering their lack of rep (and how much people hate them). I like em though, they do what they do and I've never been down yet...and I don't ride slow.

Having said that I would take a look at IRC tires, The RX-1 is a great commuter tire and the SP-11 have a mixed compound, better if you intend to run corners a little faster. About 100 per tire for the RX-1. These are my next purchase...or the

Next on the list - Pirelli Diablo sport touring tires, mixed compound (soft sides and harder centre), cost roughly 140-150 ish. Probably your best bet for cost savings and reliability. I think the Bridgestones come in about the same.

You can find them on bikemart I think, or try typing the names into a Korean search engine.

i went in and they said a pilot was 180k fitted. so im going ahead with that. its bags cheaper than what i'd pay at home so im happy. and it matches the front. i had the same tire on the back before so i know what im getting.

ill add a correction as i dont want people thinking i got a super deal. the tires he offered for 180 were shinko. i looked around the internet for my tire size (160/60 Z17) and the cheapest i saw was shinko for 150 plus delivery. bridegstones were 250. so i just plumped for the shinko. and earthbound, you are correct, the shinko are ok. and if like you say they last a long time. ill be really happy. cheers for the advice.
