I think their pricing is going to be the most important part. If it's true that the 3G will retail for around 100,000 won, I think it will sell really well. KTF can gain market share and make a lot of money off the data plans. |

it will be interesting to see the price for the iphone 3gs. Seems like it should be in line with US prices. But what about the data plans and other charges? |

I won't buy one, but I'm happy to see it finally allowed in Korea. Yes, LG and Samsung will be fuming to see any kind of competition, but, I'll bet dollars to donuts that it won't sell well in Korea. Apple has very little or no cool-cred here. Not like the west at all.
Plus, Koreans think Korean-made cellphones are the best in the world. It won't take much by LG or Samsung to bring out an iphone-killer.
But the really good thing about the iphone coming to Korea is, it might, just might, make the Korean phone makers actually start putting decent MP3 and video functions into their phones with a few gigs of memory. They've held off doing that because, of course, it will kill off the dedicated MP3/PMP market when they do.
We, the customers, all want one device that does everything. But they will resent giving us it.
For once I'll say, nice one, Apple. |

Apple actually doesnt care. It`s more on the KTF end trying to pursuade Apple to let them sell the phones in the Korean market. |

RTA. 100,000 won. The iPhone is subsidized by the plan.
As far as Apple not having "cool cred," when I bring out my iPod Touch to share photos with Korean friends, they all fawn over it like it was the bee's knees. I've found that reports of Koreans thinking Korean products are the best are greatly exaggerated. |
