orange, or covered with Hello Kitty prints? I just want a solid color.
Blue or black would be great. |

Your question made me laugh. I guess I'd noticed, but didn't think about it much.
As for my solution . . . my mom makes quilts and sent me one. Do you want to place an order? |

Heh, I also laughed at this thread. My first thought was good luck my friend!
I'm presuming that you're new to Korea, so just in case you didn't know, there's not really any hurry to get a blanket. Within a few weeks you won't need one for at least the next four months (unless you're planning on sleeping with the a/c cranked up, live in the mountains, or can't last a few weeks until it's time to get it laundered and pack it away). I came here in Winter and didn't want to spend a fortune, so ended up with a hideous purple flowered thing (it is very soft and snuggly though!). As it got warmer I bought some plain, light purple, thickish sheets from Emart. Still not brilliant but less garish than the comforter. These got me through til I could use the thin sheet I brought from home or nothing.
I have seen reasonably designed and coloured comforters (though maybe not plain blue or black) in the little linen shops that you see around. They do tend to be pretty expensive though and they seem to try to get you to buy a set with a matress cover (what seems to act as a fitted sheet here) and pillow cases. It can be hard to decipher without much Korean.
You've got all summer to look. If it were me I'd just sit on it for now and keep an eye out. Good luck |

Yes, I've only been here a month. I've done a bit of looking around, but no luck. Currently, I'm stuck with this horrible fuschia color that the Hagwon I'm working for provided. I'm not terribly picky, but the color is atrocious. Thanks for the help, I'll try to hold off because I heard it gets terribly hot here.

Far too heavy for this time of year but those shops in the 'won that sell "mink" blankets usually have solid color ones.(not just the super tacky wolf print ones that they think will appeal to GIs) |

dozens of places I'm sure. There is a blanket store I pass a few times a week near here that sells tons of colors. Some with your standard prints on them you'd see at your parents or grandparents place, or some pink/kiddie style ones. Just walk around and look for bedding stores. |

I love my green blanket. You'd have to pry it out of my dead cold hands before I would give it up.
Since you are only using the blanket to sleep with, why do you care so much?
Comfort is greater than looks to me, and my green blanket is the most comfortable thing. |

Maybe you could have a family member send you a care package with some things you really miss or feel like you need... |

I've thought about that, I just didn't know about shipping costs. I assumed it would be cheaper to find one here, but if the shipping isn't too terrible that's a good idea. |

Shipping cost vs. Comfort
You won't find cotton sheets easily, but someone here may be able to help. There's a reason why people pay premium prices. Check your local post office for shipping prices. |

Yeah, in reality my blanket isn't bad at all, it's just hideous. I wonder if E-mart will have anything. I'm going to go look around for a bit tomorrow, but if all else fails I'll get a package I suppose. |
