Hi,
I just finished my 2nd contract at a PS and decided I wanted to move up to Seoul at long last. So, now my E-2 has expired and I have to leave the country for a few minutes to get my passport stamped and come back as a tourist next weekend.
In the meantime, I'm looking for the next job. My intention is to work a summer camp while looking for a regular job in Seoul. So, today I got an offer to teach at a summer camp on a C-4 visa.
Hence, the motive for this post. C-4s are quite a bit different than E-2s in that the processing of a C-4 request is done at a Korean consulate in another country rather than at an immi office in Korea.
With an E-2, they do the processing in Korea, give you a number, you go to Fukuoka (or elsewhere), give them the number, come back the next day and get your E-2 visa stamps.
But with a C-4, since the processing all takes place in a foreign country, i wondering if it can still be done within the same time frame. That is, show one day with the necessary paperwork from your employer, make your application, and complete the process the next day before running down to the dock to take the hydrofoil back to Busan. This is important for me to find out because my choice is to go to Fukuoka as I have always done for E-2 visa runs if it will be just a one (or even 2) night stay. But, if it will be longer, I'd go to a less expensive country to hang out in such as Thailand, I guess.
Thanks, in advance for your feedback on this question (I think). |
