My freaking mother in law is telling my wife she forbids her to go back to Korea because of the situation with North Korea. What a pain in the ass she is being. I already had a job lined up in Changwon and everything. I need some leverage here. Would Jeju be considered relatively safe if North Korea attacked? Seems like we could just split to Japan really fast or someh were else. At least we wouldn't be blown up instantly like some of the main landers. |

How old are you? I don't think your mother in law can do that if your wife is over 18. And if she's trying to, defying her isn't a bad idea, she'll need to learn that she can't forbid adults' choices. Although from your name I suppose you're in the part of the country where she could be as young as 15.
I kid I kid. |

My girls told me today, with a mixture of dread and... glee?:
"North Korea is going to bomb Hawaii!" |

You haven't experienced the posts of the OP before have you? I think he is the RL Mr. Bean or something like that. Name something that would NEVER happen to someone and the OP has experienced it. |

Tell the MIL to mind her own business and don't interfere in another's marriage.
Forbid?!?! Unreal!
You need a college degree to work at teaching...puts you over 18....an adult...if the wife is being forbid by her mommy...that puts her under 18...and that makes you what....messing with a youngster?
If your both over the legal age...do what you want to do! And if your wife can't make up her own mind and listens to mommy...you have far more serious problems to worry about in your marriage than north korea!
(the north will never ever start a war...never...they are long on rhetoric and short on specifics....they don't have the balls....for the past 50 years...they talk the same bull.....give us aid/money or else...nothing ever happens.....besides....in war...the idea is NOT for ME to die for my country....it's to make YOU die for your country!) |

Changwon is safe. They would just want to huff and puff and blow Seoul down. |
