the remote to my air conditioner is MIA. i've tried to turn the thing on manually but it doesn't seem possible. almost everyone i know has the same remote for their air conditioner.
is it possible to just buy another remote? if so how much do they cost?

what are my options? i really don't want to be sweating all night for the next couple of months

any advice is appreciated

Which model aircon do you have? If you post a picture I may be able to help?

You have two options really.

1) Buy a new airconditioner unit for 400,000-500,000 (It comes with a free remote)

2) Go to any store like Homeplus/LotteMart/Emart and say "Air-Con" and mime out pushing buttons. They sell universal remotes, and I've never seen one that didn't work with pretty much all models. I can't remember how much mine was... I'm thinking around 10,000 ~ 20,000.

Which model is it? Call their AS number. Most likely, they'll give you one for free or tell you where you can get one.

I don't want to buy a new air con because I'm moving to a new apt in 2 months

here are some pics of it

I think its an older model, at least it looks kind of old to me.

A friend as similar if not same model, do you think I could turn it on with his remote?

I was joking about buying a new aircon unit... Try using his remote.

Write down the name of the company that made it. Seriously you can get a universal remote for under 20,000 I'm sure. Just make sure you know which company made it. If the remote doesnt work you can always take it back.
