I have a five hour wait at Narita and I am hoping to find a decent meal for a reasonable price. Is there a food court in Terminal 1?
Thanks in advance,

Get a box of 48 of granola bars off of Gmarket that come from Costco to save on food while traveling. Now you're only problem is water though you might be able to slip a couple 2 liter bottles into your check on bag. It really stinks they no longer allow you to carry on a water bottle. It's kinda funny that for 50 years, travelers brought water aboard and not once did anyone bring a bottle of fuel to set the cabin on fire and now we can't have a bottle due to a threat in London. Air travel sux.
Granola bars are great where an 50 cent granola bar can tie you over from spending $8 to $20 on something to eat in an airport or other expensive place and you won't be taking on unknown fats, MSG's, and other stupid chemicals. The box of granola bars costs about $20, but can save over $100 in food costs. I can't count how many times the granola bar has gotten me through tight squeeze times over the years. |

Japan can be cheap. Airports are unlikely to be.
If you want anything resembling reasonable prices you had better go through the security checkpoint, as they have you in a sling once you get to the gates.
I also suggest you go far far away from where the passengers come in. I know there are a couple really good places in Kansai Intl. but you have to get over to the 3rd floor of the Aeroplaza. Had a few great conversations with the flightline guys in orange suits.
No idea why but, Narita was always more expensive for my flights.
Also you can get a 300 yen 22 oz Kirin beer in Shibuya right across from the park with Hachiko in it, but you have to go don the ally inbetween the huge stores. Thats where the loaders drink after work and its more fun than most high end expensive places facing the street.
Expensive means you didnt look hard enough or wanted to spend the money. I lived cheaper in Japan than America. |

I believe the garbage dumpsters are probably pretty cheap. You may think about becoming a dumpster diver or a Freegan while at the aiport in Narita. |
