Ansan's a pretty good place to live, but it still depends what you like. If you like clubbing and all that, then it kinda sucks, since all the action is an hour's subway ride into downtown Seoul. Then you have to wait til 5:30am for the subway to open to get home, or take a $30 taxi ride. But there're a lot of friendly foreigners here, and like everywhere in Korea, there're a ton of drinking holes. Ansan's strength on other places in and around Seoul is the number of south, south-east, and central asian food around Ansan station. There're a lot of factory workers there, so you can get exotic food there for pretty cheap.

there is a yahoo group and a facebook group dedicated to teachers in Ansan.

Try

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wayguks_in_ansan/

or Ansan English Teachers or Wayguks in Ansan on facebook. That will get you connected pretty quickly.

Also there is a quiz at Hangout bar every Thursday night around 11 in Jungang if you can find it. Always full on that day.
