| I have a meeting at the labor board on monday morning - im going to the Anyang office and i don't think they're too well set up for English-speakers there. i'm trying to find a Korean who can come along with me, but failing that, how easy (and costly) is it to get hold of a translator for the meeting? how would i go about finding one? |

Let's have some TESOL fun, shall we?
You go in wearing a loincloth and scream at them, that's what you do.
"You Koreans have had white faces come here for decades, and I need to bring a TRANSLATOR to this meeting? You went to classes 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Your parents paid BIG coin for you to learn English. You shoulda been doing your homework back in the day instead of blowing your opportunities, you lazybones." Sure, it'd probably fall on deaf ears.
However....however...if these guys had white teachers who graduated from Harvard, the SMU TESOL program, or those that claimed they were better than even Steven Pinker himself yet had no ED degree, degree in English, or even a freaking CERT, you may not need that translator after all. I'm betting that even in that case you will still need one, though. Any takers? Bet 20 bucks? |

OP,
You post this on Friday night with a Labor Bord hearing on Monday morning. Is part of the argument in your petition the fact Ks can't plan ahead? |
